Parts of a Map:
cartouche: a self-contained ornamental frame, often displaying the name of the map or map maker.
compass rose: originally used to indicate the directions of the winds but nowadays used to indicate the cardinal directions: North, South, East, West.
Map Key or Legend: :an explanatory table of symbols on a map.
Neatline: the border of the map.
